Francisco Alonso was one of the pioneers in writing music for cinema in Spain, and was also the founder of the American Spanish Film Society (CEA), created in 1932, which also included Carlos Arniches, Jacinto Benavente, brothers Álvarez Quintero, Pedro Muñoz Seca and Jacinto Guerrero.
